Dewi Cooke is a multimedia journalist from Melbourne, Australia. She’s been a print reporter at The Age newspaper in Melbourne for 10 years, and has a master’s from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in New York, where she majored in digital media. She is on maternity leave from her role as Deputy Arts Editor at The Age and currently based in Washington, DC.

She co-produced www.byathreadnyc.com, a multimedia narrative project about the future of New York’s famed Garment District, and has completed a short documentary about friendship and ping pong, Double Happiness. She was a 2011 News21 fellow, a nationwide initiative that seeks to promote innovation in journalism. For News21, she and a team reported on the impact of America’s aging population.
